Title: Any lens comparison yet between Otus 55mm and Otus 85mm?

Knowing Zeiss I guess they will be very similar.

Did anyone see a comparison test yet?

Make sure you check out the different tabs.  In summary, the 85 has a slight edge but both are the very best lens for their respective focal length on the market and are so close that any difference is splitting photons ;)

We just received the 2 lenses on Friday.  So far I am super impressed with the results.  We have done a comparison with the 90mm Sony and both are good. We will have a review up soon.

Did you mean the Batis or the Otus?

As far as the Otii goes, I used to think the 55mm was unbeatable... but the 85mm is even better. ;)

Kevin, I think you may be referring to the Batis lenses while this thread is about the Otus lenses ;)

Hi,

Yes of course. But I guess that Michael and Kevin see three lenses competing for space in the camera bag:

Otus 85/1.4
Batis 85/1.8
Sony  90/2.8G macro


Personally, I am very much interested in all three lenses. I have that Batis on order but I may cancel if one of the other lenses is a better match for my needs.

For a 55mm; I can live with a F 2.0 (like a good summicron).

But for a portrait lens, I love a F 1.4 DOF.
