Title: need new monitor anyone know if the dell premier color is really worth it?

I need a new monitor

looking at these two, huge difference in price, trying to decide if the premier color is really worth it. Ofcourse my local shop didnt have them for me to compare, so I'm looking for any advice or reccomendations you might have. One is the dell 27" ultrasharp 4k and the other is the dell 32" 4k ultrasharp with premier color

digitaldog,
which monitor would you suggest, I looked up NEC spectraview, there are numerous, is there a specific one? And are any of the NEC monitors better than the dell?

Any of the PA series. I've running a PA272W with their supported SpectraView software, that's key.

it doesnt look like any of the PA series are 4k, dont I want 4k?? Atleast, since I'm getting a new monitor, shouldnt it be 4k?

They did come out with a 4K SpectraView too.

NEC and Eizo are top of the line.

Depending on $$s you want to spend, you may want to consider Samsung U32970Q.  PLS, which is their version of IPS, which is under LG patent.  Integrate software to set hardware LUTs, etc with most an "puck".  And a lot cheaper.  I am sure that N and E have some advantages, but is the huge add'l investment worth it.

Listen to Andrew. He's forgotten more about color management than I'll ever know. I took his and Lloyd Chambers recommendations, as well as others, and got an NEC PA271 with the Spectraview calibration software and puck (VERY IMPORTANT!!!) and have not looked back. My prints, except for the inevitable differences between transmitted and reflected light, look JUST like the monitor. Easy to calibrate, beautiful monitor, VERY ACCURATE.

Same here, the PA271 rocks.
