The "irredeemably irascible Schewe (http://forum.luminous-landscape.com/index.php?topic=102028.0)" apparently is too modest, or perhaps too occupied being irascible, to have informed us of this, but I just discovered that the second edition of The Digital Negative is now available for pre-order from Peachpit Press (http://www.peachpit.com/store/digital-negative-raw-image-processing-in-lightroom-9780134033174).  And—very smart move, which more authors and publishers should follow—there's a discounted bundle which includes both the paper and electronic versions of the book.  (I use the the first edition as a reference, and occasionally want to check something while I'm traveling.)  Peachpit also throws in a modest additional discount if you fill out a short marketing survey, and covers the shipping—at least in the United States.  Scheduled release date is Aug. 27.

Seriously, Jeff, I learned so much from the first edition that popping for the second, sight-unseen, was a no-brainer.  Hope you do very well with it.

Thanks...I'm a day away from submitting the last chapter and it should be out end of Aug, beginning of Sept.

A lot of the book is gonna be the same but a lot of important new content due to new features. I can't believe I used LR 4 for the first book, that seems so long ago :~)

I can't say that I've mastered everything in Book 1 yet, but I'm certainly going to spring for Book 2.

Is the content applicable to Capture One Pro v8 too ?

Does the 2nd edition explain the latest and greatest methods for
1. downrezzing for web
2. uprezzing/downrezzing for print

as well as their associated sharpening and noise/moire reduction recipes?

Or does this religion still have no orthodoxy?
