Title: Mounting large prints

Getting ready for a sow. Epson Glossy 250 prints, 36x24 some larger.

I'm mounting inhouse with a manual laminator. I just got some Drytac Multitac.

When is it better to put the Multitac first on the back of the photo? or on the substrate (Sintra) first?

I have a 39" laminator coming in soon, I have a 25.5" roll of drytac.

Is one method better than the other?

i find waaaay easier to put on substrate

what i tend to do is batch coat a whole bunch of boards, then cut up for jobs

My choice too. 4'x8' DiBond-ViBond-Ibond boards after another and then cut them to the size required later on.

That is what I will do.

Question: In applying the adhesive to the board. What do you do if the adhesive roll is LARGER than the substrate? Say I buy a 38" roll and have a 30" board? Do I need to have wider paper underneath to prevent the adhesive from sticling to the roller or table?

Do you always use adhesive rolls smaller than your boarc and trim later?

no because of the thickness of the substrate it tends to keep the overhang away from the table or bench

I have a 8*4ft glass topped workbench with 54" roller at end, so even if it sticks its not an issue

I too, adhesive to substrate, and in batches, all the same size at once.

No, always the other way around. Better overlap the mounting adhesive as that is cheaper stuff than the board. For bigger jobs of a fixed size you better get the right size rolls and adapt the process.  Last job of that type was 80cm wide rolls on 75cm wide boards. 1" overlap at each side is fine but 1/2" can be done too.
