NEC 2690 vs 2490

can someone explain to me in the simplest way the difference in the NEC 2690 vs the 2490 besides the difference in size. I currently have an apple 23" cinema display and calibrate it with an eye-one display 2. I'd only be editing photos [no video] and surfing the internets with said monitor.

I guess im not really sure with the built in spectra-view does and thats what im confused about...
