Recommendation for a tablet and pen for editing images using Photoshop

Hello:
I want to use a tablet for editing images on Photoshop on my Macbook instead of the trackpad. I probably will not use it for any drawing or free hand illustration but more as a replacement for a mouse for selection and masking etc. I am not necessarily looking for the most economical but but a reasonably priced feature rich tablet and pen that a novice can get up to speed on. Looking forward to your recommendations.

I've been using a Wacom tablet for years. Model doesn't matter as I'm sure they've all changed since I bought this . Works fine. TONS better than a mouse, w is tons better than a trackpad.

Years ago i switched to a pen because i had to do some repetitive work and felt my arm was going bad.
Since the pen I have had no problems of that sort- ( the height of the working table etc is also a factor to be considered)
Also - so much more refined to use !

I am using the small pen -tablet wacom , the larger the tablet the larger the movements you have to make; depends on the use
For photoshop etc the small one is fine, i find. Also i like the buttons to automate certain tasks.
