Spring Puddle alight

Not much to stumble on back then,... but looked down,.. and my eye was caught,... by this puddle in the woods?

f/8, 135mm, 1/40 sec, ISO 200, handheld

visually disturbing when in landscape orientation. Or was that intended ?

degrub,....Yes intended. Light approaching left to right appealed, but now I can see how the orientation changes the viewing result.

I'm also puzzled by the orientation… My first thought was about the tar pits in La Brea  ;D

Tar pit? yes, always amazed at how some unexpected common sights in nature seem to resemble something really very different.

Perhaps the reflected tree branch might indeed just be a branch lodged in the woodland mud puddle.
