In the flesh, it's a chunkier model than the previous one; I'm not so sure that BMW is still doing the right thing with design. I feel that to be the case with most car companies these days, but BMW especially appears to have abandoned the classic, shiny kidney grille of yore and espoused black-painted things that you have to be very near to see that they actually exist. Audi, too, has gone for almost invisible intersecting black circles in place of brightwork.
Ford's electric Mustang should never have been made under that name: it looks nothing like a Mustang, and would have been better sold as simply another Ford. Instead, the Mustang name is being diluted.
In Britain, we never had a Mustang (we do now) but we did have a Capri (nothing like the Lincoln Capri) that could have been seen as the poor Brits' Mustang... the sin there, in Britain - Europe, was to reuse the Capri name and stick it onto a featureless EV.
Usually, after my obligatory morning walk, I sit outside a local bar and watch the world go past. It has become very hard to distinguish one SUV from any other. Suddenly, the little town is full of Chinese versions of the Range Rover... is anybody else here old enough to remember the days when cars had personality? Maybe we need to screw Trump and all go to Cuba - or get Slobodan to repost some of his classic cars pix.
