I understand the theory of contact tracing, but it seems to me that the only way it could work would be at the very beginning of an epidemic, not after thousands of people have the virus. As a reporter, I sometimes had to go from one person to another to find out some particular thing, and it might take all day to do that. If you go to somebody who got sick four days after contracting the disease and becoming transmissible, how can you even expect that person to remember everybody he talked to...and then how do you find *those* people in any sort of efficient way and then how do you contact all the people those people contacted? It's nuts. I think the 3,000 people was more of a job program than a serious epidemic tracing attempt.

Greatest doesn’t mean absolute perfection, no mistakes, etc. it means greatest on balance. As for me, I left for personal reasons, nothing to do with the country’s greatness. Then again, maybe you are right. Maybe in retrospect I will look at that as a timely escape from the USSA.
