For you Trumplets--chew on this. What do you want to bet that there are no tariffs on these?

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/trump-2020-campaign-banners-are-being-proudly-produced-in-china-2018-07-25

fake Fricking News.  You got duped.

Notice the date of your "article"  July 25, 2018

From Politifact:

https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2019/feb/15/viral-image/yes-trump-re-election-banners-are-being-made-china/

It does appear, according to multiple news accounts, that items for Trump’s 2020 run are being manufactured in China (or at least they were prior to the implementation of the announced U.S. tariffs on Chinese products). But it is not proven that any of the materials were actually ordered by Trump’s re-election campaign. It is a charge the campaign denies, and campaign finance records back that up.
...
Yuanyuan also told Reuters that the factory has been making Trump banners for as long as his campaign slogan has been "Make America Great Again," saying that "sales have been great ever since 2015."

But even Yuanyuan said that while the buyers were located in China and abroad, she didn’t know if they were affiliated with Trump’s official campaign or the Republican Party.

When we reached out to Trump’s campaign, they told us the flags are counterfeit.

"All merchandise made by the Trump campaign are made in the USA," campaign manager Brad Parscale wrote in an email. "There are thousands of counterfeit items made by scammers. These flags are counterfeit."

I agree that one counter example is sufficient to disprove a simple logical statement but I disagree that this is applicable to demonstrate that the time it takes in the US is a proof of the ineffectiveness of the lock down.

You are overlooking the facts that:
- the late start of the lock down explains very well what we are seeing in the US. This isn’t rocket science, you start late you let an exponential spread occur with a much higher absolute number of cases. You can blame your President for that
- the lock down is starting to show benefits, for example in NY

I understand the economic impacts and the urge to reopen but you should talk to the guy who caused all this, Trump.

Cheers,
Bernard

You have to get your facts right.  China's Xi caused this.

Some posters are like a broken record...Trump bad, he started too late.  OMB Virus at work again.

So lets look at when Countries around the work actually did decide to lockdown.  Aside for a few Asian countries, the bulk of the free world did almost the same thing as far as timing.  But its just so much more fun to blame Trump....

I'm not even sure you agree with yourself from one post to the next. Bottom line the shortage of pork and other meats is not a distribution problem nor is it caused by the lock down. It's a direct consequence of working during the time the virus is still running rampant...which could happen to any business if things open up too soon and people don't obey the distancing rules.
We weren't discussing why there's a shortage.  We were discussing why a shortage increases prices including those of substitute products.  You're not paying attention.  Apparently John Camp, who's agreeing with you isn't paying attention either.

That's what Mao said during the Cultural Revolution there when 30,000,000 Chinese died.

It is estimated over 5 MILLION people left Wuhan and other ares in the few weeks leading up to the Wuhan lockdown on Jan 23.  China knew about the virus at the time.

They hid the facts about the virus for 6 weeks so countries weren't prepared.  There going to be a lot of law suits.  Two states are already suing CHina.  Nigeria.  Others will follow.  But people may forget about itm due to the fact that China buys a lot of their stuff.  Most will suck it up.  It all depends how fast economies recover.  If this goes on, and the economies continue to take a dump, or if there is a second wave, more people will be pissed.

Who cares who caused this. Maybe our leaders should focus on getting out of this mess rather than trying to blame anyone and everyone that moves.

Funny how Xi was Trumps bud in January as they were trying to figure out the stalemate in trade between the two countries...all of a sudden Xi is the culprit.

No you are wrong...you should spend more time reading than typing.

"And all the talk that the food supply chains would be okay with a lockdown.  Oops!"

This implies the lock down caused food supply chain problems which is totally false.

Some countries took the virus seriously and took action right away and other countries proclaimed on nation wide TV that it will magically go away in April. Now we are where we are.

Well... how to say this...
- "almost" is meaningless. There was at least a 2 weeks delay in the US and that's enough to allow the virus to spread to millions
- there are very clear cases where this was managed much better, take Germany for example. A highly dense country (much denser than the US overall) at the center of Europe with a huge inflow/outflow of people, a thriving economy,... a recipe for a disaster that did not happen because the situation was managed timely by the chanselor, the same politician that Trump despises because she dares to be a woman who doesn't bend to his bullying
- the other world leaders in countries where this was poorly managed (Italy, Spain,France,...) are also under heavy criticism and only a few extremists are defending them but... they were still at least 2 weeks faster than the US in taking concrete measures and their leaders never downplayed the pandemic. They never gave their citizens recommendations going against their experts,...

Cheers,
Bernard

Trump isn't responsible for the virus, nor the way it spread out of China.

But he is fully responsible for the way he managed the pandemic in the US, or I should say didn't manage it.

Do you at least agree that Trump is in charge in the US? That as a leader he has an essential role and responsibility about what happens in his country? Or do you think your President is just a puppet? Wasn't it you who was writing 2 days ago that nobody could criticize him for lack of decisiveness?  ;D ;D ;D

I am still waiting for your answer on Sweden... but I know I'll never get it...

Cheers,
Bernard

No, no, NO, Peter.  Those are counterfeit banners.  Those aren't real banners, they're fakes.  Trump's re-election committee told us so.

Just because they say "Trump" and "Make America Great Again" and appear to be several feet wide doesn't mean they're real.

They can't be for the Trump 2020 campaign because they clearly told us that all their campaign materials are made in America.  But just think of the market for those counterfeit banners! Why, they can be used by everybody!  The market is limitless. That's why it's so profitable to make all these counterfeit banners and ship 'em across the globe. They're gonna sell like hotcakes, everywhere!  Sheer genius on somebody's part.

Besides, Peter, that story is from the past.  Everyone knows those banners can't be used in 2020!  Why, that's two years ago.  Don't you know?  They expire, just like inkjet ink.

So, PeterAit, clearly those banners are not destined for this November's election. Open your eyes, man! You lefties are all the same! Do your research more carefully next time.

Trump was decisive.  He shut down travel from China.  Biden and Democrats called him a xenophobe and racist for doing that.  So Biden would have done less.  So I'm voting for the person who was more decisive.  Trump.  Who are you voting for?  Oh, you're European.  You can't vote. 3000 miles away. Wait, you live in Japan for years, 10,000 miles away.  Why do you care so much about Trump? Are you a liability lawyer for China?  Why don;t you ever say how well Abe of Japan and Trump get along and how strong the relationship is between our two countries.  How good friends they are.  It would seem that would be more to your interest.  But no.  You'd rather knock Trump. How about sending me a box of 4x5 Fujicolor Velvia 50 film.  I can't buy it over here in the states.

Shutting down travel from China...but allowing up to 40,000 people to come in while shutdown without doing any quarantining is just as good as not shutting down. Do you think any of those 40,000 people might have the virus with them? So shutting down was good...but that's where it stopped when so much more needed to be done.

Biden didn't even want the Chinese travelers stopped.  Why then would you vote for him?

This isn't about Biden...it's all about how Trump screwed up for a month and now is looking to blame and / or fire just about anyone he can. Buck sure does not stop with Trump...a weasel and coward...nothing close to the leadership needed to deal with the crisis at hand.
