Sunsets are great at South Rim and sunrise for North Rim. As for a spot...there are just too many options.
Toroweap is part of the North Rim, but the way in is not through the main entrance. It took me almost 2 hours driving a 4X4 on dirt road to get to the rim. Just like Sierraman mentioned, you'll need a high clearance vehicle for the last couple of miles. On your way there, watch for wild Mustangs and take some pics! Both sunrise and sunset are awesome at Toroweap. The best season there would be monsoon season to get really dramatic clouds, but you'll also have to deal with driving in the mud. I've never been there in November so I cannot offer any insight for the month.
If you are not prepared to hike about a dozen miles to Havasupai and another dozen miles back to the top, you might want to do the mule ride round trip. I think it's like $80 each way. If you have a lot of gear and bags then you'll most likely pay extra for the extra mule carrying your belongings.
