As far as I know Sinar/Jenoptik have not banned Leaf from making a revolving back.

Sinar have their own precision lathes on site and consequently can test, develop and manufacture their own adapters at their leisure, which is what they have done.

I'm glad they did btw, I've got rather used to rotating the back without removing it.

When Theirry said that Sinar had a revolving back adapter that worked with a 45 degree finder for the Hy6 I thought,
"No way in hell, there is no clearance!". I was late to realize, as all of you know,
that Sinar is now shipping a totally new 45 degree finder that stands taller and allows for the revolving Sinar back.
Sinar also is shipping a totally new version of their back with an integrated revolving back
(sans the revolving "adapter" plate). It's a beautiful thing!

Makes you wish Leaf would license LC-11 to Sinar.

Where do you get your info from?

Sinar does not dictate to Leaf or any other manufacturer what they can or can not do.

Sinar's 45º prism is not any taller than Leaf's. They are the same except the base of the Sinar is grooved to accomodate when the back revolves.

None of Sinar's digital backs have an integrated revolving mechanism. All their digital backs use interchangable interface plates.

Sometimes it just occurs to me. I believe the Hy6 Sinar back is now shipping with the Revolving Adapter as the standard interface.

I don't what H1/A75 Guy exactly wrote in his post, but can assure that we (Sinar/Jenoptik) don't dictate (nor are we able to dictate) anything to anybody or any company. Leaf are free, like Sinar, to manufacture whatever they wish.

I hope this clarifies it all.
