A real life Mark III sample
« on: August 23, 2007, 08:37:01 am »

I'm shooting in my back yard, getting accustomed to my new Mark III and slowly understanding the available functions.

to me, the quality and clarity of the images is very very good, especially when compared to the images produced by my EOS 350D, and I wanted to share this with all of you; a pixel-peeper crop from one of my photographs taken today:

[attachment=3075:attachment]

Camera: EOS 1D Mark III
Lens: 70-300 DO IS, image shot at 300mm (i.e., 300 x 1.3 = 390mm) with IS active.
Handheld, leaning against an immobile gate.

Camera settings:
Custom function: Max Aperture Value = f/5.6
Safety Shift: On, Shift ISO.
Mode: Tv
Tv set to 1/125
==> Camera sets Aperture set to maximum value ==> f/5.6
==> Camera increases ISO to 1000 (it was an overcast day today)

Apple Aperture RAW boosting: 0.70
Apple Aperture RAW (capture) sharpening: Off
Apple Aperture RAW Chroma Blur: On
Apple Aperture RAW Auto Noise Compensation: Off
no other edits were made to the image.

The image was exported from Aperture at 100%, 100dpi, JPEG Quality=12, sRGB.

regards,
Gregory
