Title: Nikon 24-120 lens How to dismantle to clean

Have a Nikon 24-120 f4 lens which I sucked water / condensation into and it dried on the front element.

Does anyone have a diagram or instructions as to where I can find information how to dismantle the lens so I can clean the rear of the front element. 

There does not appear to be any way to unscrew the ring in the front holding the element. So maybe its not accessable from the front.

Any help appreciated.

That lens design must be disassembled from the rear forward.  It is a job for a repairman, not a DIYer.  It will cost about $150 as it is somewhat time consuming.

Good lens so I may have to contemplate going that way.

A word of advice - hide your screwdrivers and resist any temptation to try it yourself. One wet afternoon I dismantled my 24-105L and ended up with a pile of parts and buying a new one. Doh.

its just that I have removed the front elements of a couple and sucessfully cleaned and replaced the bits.  Thought I may be an easy task.

I will most likely sell the lens "as is" and buy a new one. the marks are at the edge of the glass and its presently attached to a DX camera body.  I can't see anything on the images where the marks are.
