Title: Using an HP Ipaq as a wireless trigger?

I know wireless remotes don't cost much but I have an Ipaq which works as a remote for various things like tvs. Can I easily make it communicate with an Eos 40D?

For those of you interested, i've found numerous reports of people who have got it to work. Unfortunately i haven't been able to yet.
