Title: Detecting Striaght Lines in a Image

Hi,
      We wanted to develop an application that does the Google search or any other such kind of operation on the text selected by an underline in Image. Here is a breif description about the scenerio, We have an Image which contains lot of Text and suppose i have opened that Image in paint and made an underline under some text, now i wanted get the Text which i underlined using some Image processing Techniques. How can i achieve this ?. (See the attachment for the reference )

no offense but is this even related to photography? wouldn't it be better if you asked it at some programming forum/discussion board?
