I am using the 5D and I want to find some fairly user friendly software that will allow me to take large files (raw to tif) and put them together into panoramic images. Most programs favor PC and I need Mac software. I tried HuginOSX but it wanted to use jpg. I also tried PTMac 4 but it kept telling me I had exceeded the vertical size capacity and that was disappointing as the point was to have a very large image that included both vertical and horizontal information.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What about [a href=\"http://www.realviz.com/]Realviz Stitcher[/url]? Not cheap but a demo version is available for download. It has been tested here (http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/software/stitcher-4.shtml) on the Luminous landscape website, although it's version 4.

I have been using Stitcher for the past year or so. I join a row of full frame horizontal images for a panoramic aspect ratio mage or a row of vertical images for a normal aspect ratio high resolution image. THe program is MAC friendly and does a good job in tripod captured images. Digital Outback had a discount deal on Stitcher when I purchased my copy - perhaps they still have such a deal

I'm also on a Mac and Stitcher has worked well for me.

I guess you are referring to Nona stitcher?

The Stitcher Program that I am using is a product of Realviz. I believe their website is realviz.com. There is some info on the program in discussion gruops. and Digital Outback Photo Site has a review. It is a rather expensive program (around $400) so it is worth looking for a discount deal like the one from Digital Outback.

Calico is a very nice and inexpensive new automated stitching program for Macs. It's even a Universal Binary.
It's from the same folks that did PanoTools and PT Mac.
It's currently in beta and can be downloaded and tried for free, though output is watermarked. In any event, the price is just $39.95 so if you like what you see it's worthwhile.

I was referring to the Calico stitcher.

I didn't try Calico as I don't have Tiger. Tried to update to it but the computer froze. I am having no luck with PT Tools

How about Panorama Maker (http://www.arcsoft.com/products/panoramamaker/)? I haven't used it, but it looks like it should do what you're asking. I've used Panorama Factory and it works pretty well, but it's a PC-only product. I'm about to switch to a Mac-tel when the new ones come out, it then it should be straightforward to use PC software on the Mac.
Also, have you tried just using the stitcher built into Photoshop and Photoshop Elements? It works pretty well. If you don't have either of these, it might be worth getting Elements just for the stitcher and considering the rest of the package a freebie!
