Title: Tamron 200-500 zoom
Post by: monik on July 16, 2006, 06:21:00 am

Has anyone on this forum used the Tamron 200-500 zoom, if so how good is it and how fast?  Has it got a VR, IS or OS equivalent system?
Thanks,
Monik

I don't have the lens, but perhaps this review will help:

i bought one based on the Photozone test (unfortunatley the Canon 100-400 tested by Photozone is a bad example) - up to 400mm the Tamron resolution is as good as my Canon 100-400 (although contrast is down a bit) -but at 500mm resolution is worse tha a crop from either the Canon or Tamron at 400mm.  The Tamron is for sale.  There is no free (or even enexpensive) lunch.
