does this combo produce quality 30x40 enlargements?

Yes it does depending on your demands :-)  I have shot thousands of great images with my H3dII-31 Mp and enlarged them up to what my Epson 9800 was able to print.  Most images shot on film such as those of HCB and other great photographers from the past only contained 10Mp of real information. But because they were great pictures, enlargements up to meters wide prints were possible and actually looked great. I always teach my students that if your picture would look good printed on kitchen roll paper, it is a great picture and if it also prints perfect on 42" wide you have got a winner.  ;) :) :D ;D
