Title: "Filter Failed" Print Error

Are there any updates to this recurring problem?

I'm using a MacPro (Early 2008) 2x2.8Ghz Quad-Core with an Epson 9900 printer connected via USB (cable has been checked).  Won't work through Lightroom or Capture One when printing Sheets.  Works fine on roll paper!

Any suggestions?

more from a general 'debug' POV, you could certainly nuke the driver and re-install (the 'filter' is part of the driver package)

remove printer via SysPrefs ->Printers
Finder/Terminal to /Library/Printers and then toss the 'EPSON' folder
reboot
reload the driver from the .dmg
reinstantiate the printer in SysPrefs


Also, run the 'Console' application and poke around (search for 'filter' or similar).  Perhaps there is some useful information in a log somewhere.

Been there done that. Just finished, again, actually. 
What seems to be working is to load the sheet, as a sheet, then in the printer driver, select Roll. You get an error message saying wrong paper type on the printer, press the button to change it and it prints fine. Still, very annoying and we shouldn't have to jump through hoops for this.

It's the Mac program that collects various diagnostic or error output from other running programs.  That includes the printer driver so by taking a peek (finding it is the first challenge), perhaps it might have a tidbit of useful info about why the driver is weird.
