The picture shows a lot of technical finesse. However, I think the composition is a bit staid. It's a great subject. Are you interested exploring it further?

A great place for doors is Rajasthan (https://www.google.com.au/search?q=rajasthani+doors&es_sm=91&biw=780&bih=331&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAWoVChMI2fn98Y2WxwIVBsamCh13SQVp&dpr=1.75).

Cheers,

I like it and the processing. Done a lot of similar things but don't post any for viewing because I think the feedback would be mostly negative. :(

I see what you mean about the composition, but I was trying to maintain something of a door-like perspective, whilst obviously making the lock a major feature.

My main issue was concerning the B&W conversion. I'm always looking for advice on how I can improve this - much of my work is taken with a monochrome form in mind, and so much of my output is monochrome. I'm always after the best B&W I can get.

Well, I think you're smack right on the money with your BW processing. Superb imho.

I think the BW conversion is just right, and I like the composition, too. It shows the fantastic lock well while providing enough door (with excellent detail) to give a good context.

It's nice, Bill, but it doesn't give me a transcendental experience.

It's all hand of man, so I don't know what you're moaning about  ;)

I think the processing is spot on. The tones are wonderful, just the sort of thing I hope for and usually fail to achieve.
