Heron, on the Rocks
« on: April 22, 2015, 08:47:11 pm »

Saw this bird looking for fish while at the beach. He was really still!

Beautiful capture! Didn't see color, but this b&w has a phenomenal tonality and mood. Bravo!

Both beautiful and original.  I really like this composition and the feeling it evokes.  Well done!

the stillness of the animal, together with the long exposure, are really wonderful.

+1. Works beautifully in black and white. You have slight haloing going up the birds back and neck but that's easily resolved.

Herein lies the beauty of the Great Blue Heron; he'll stand for very long periods of time..long enough to make long exposures like this. Great shot!

Yes. I think the recent ones have carbon fiber legs.   :D

This is an unusual and creative GBH photo, I love the long exposure water smoothness, the weird rocks, and the B&W conversion.
