Link for trail version of LR6 stand alone?
« on: April 22, 2015, 01:30:56 pm »

Has anyone been able for find a link to download a trail version of LR6 standalone?? Every mention of LR on the Adobe site leads to CC. I used to just hit "check for updates" in LR5 but that too now leads to CC!

Thanks.

The Trial Version is only available through the CC version. There is no longer a stand-alone trial version.

It appears that Adobe wants you to trial the CC version, not the standalone version. From their point of view, it's better for you to have access to the Lightroom Mobile features during your trail, in case you like them enough to decide to go with Lightroom CC.

So just trial the CC version -- as a desktop app, it's the same as Lightroom 6. The downside is that you may (I'm not sure) have to download the CC manager app also, so it'll take a little longer to get everything set up.

If you end up liking Lightroom CC, but you don't want to subscribe, just let the trial expire, go back to the Adobe web site (or to a retailer) and buy LR6 Standalone.
