Hasselblad H2D-39
« on: January 31, 2006, 12:04:02 am »

I am considering purchasing Hasselblad H2D-39 and its HC lens. But before I do, I would like to read Michael's review and my fellow users' comments. I am going to use it for travel photograhy, landscape, street shooting and in studio use. In the old days, I like the results from 8 X 10 and 4 X 5. I am hoping H2D-39 can give me at least the FEELING of 4 X 5 image quality, if not 8 X 10.

Many thanks

I have no plans to review this combo in the near future. Sorry.

That's a pity Michael, a comparison with the P45 would make the P45 review really interesting.

Without any reference, it will end up being a "The Rolls-Royce is a really nice car" kind of review, don't you think? :-)

Regards,
Bernard

I couldn't agree more.

If Hasselblad / Imacon saw fit to lend me a system I'd be more than happy to test it. Unfortunately all of the soruces available to me seem unable or unwilling to do so.

I do what I can. Chasing after products for testing is soemthing that I have litle time or patience for. Companies that want their products evaluated know where to find me. If something new comes to market that I'm interested in I request an evaluation copy. It either comes or it doesn't.

The reasons for why something doesn't show up are a matter for conjecture.

I hope it's not that they are afraid of your blunt honesty. We've come to rely on your point of view as a photographer as well as an IT "expert". The problem with any other site or magazine is it relies on advertising dollars and tends to soft-pedal the shortcomings of products. Hopefully it's just that the demand has outstripped the supply this early on in the product cycle. It sure would be nice to have the comparison, even if most of us can't afford these high end products. They give all of us an idea of what will eventually trickle down in digical camera technology.
