Cherry Blossoms
« on: April 19, 2015, 06:11:19 pm »

The weather warmed up this week, which resulted in my higan weeping cherry erupting in its spring blossoms. I couldn't resist spending some time photographing the flowers, and hope you enjoy this one. C&C welcomed. Thanks for taking a look.

It's got a good feel for me.  Reminds me of something a lady might have hanging around her house.

Thanks maddogmurph. I guess the photo does smell of rose-water perfume (or whatever it was that spinsters used in the 1800s.)

Kade: Canon 50mm f1.8 (nifty fifty) and Canon 7D.

Well done. The light works very well, as does the background.

Lovely! Just a nit, it seems that there's a few bizarre artefacts on the left of the top/left flower…

Thanks francois. I hadn't noticed those, but I did see an unwanted black fringe at the top of the upper petal of the central flower (and a few other ones). They're on the raw file, so I assume they're camera artefacts. I'll remove them in PS in the near future.

I saw that too but I'm wondering if the artefacts I mentioned are not cause by synchronizing spot removal from another shot.

I didn't use spot removal on this one and didn't sync it to any others. So, I don't have a good idea of where they came from.
