Oooh-Oooh, an Orange!
« on: April 17, 2015, 09:33:24 pm »

These guys (Red-Wing Blackbirds) aren't particularly intimidated by the presence on people, so getting up close and personal is relatively easy compared to a Green Heron or the prize of prizes, the Belted Kingfisher. He took one bite of that orange and dropped it like a hot potato.

That is one big blackbird! Chris your images are always good or very good. It could be that the members are tired of seeing birds and they imo like variety. I think variety is also good for the photographer though a photographer can't be good at all varieties of photography. I recently got rid of two contacts on Flickr because all they posted was images of buses and the angles of the shots weren't original.

I just run out of superlatives for Chris's bird photos.
I think he has them all trained to cavort and preen and take ridiculous poses whenever they see his camera coming near.

Our northern Redwings are a bit more staid, and boring.

Yes, it is a fun shot!

Beautiful, and an unusual pose and approach. What do you think of lightening the head area a bit to bring out a few more details?
