Early morning with the King

I had the chance to photograph this female



For this image I used MLU and a cable release to shoot a 1/5sec F4 iso 2000

I like the second one a lot [the posture is more interesting imho] but both share those nice blue tones…

I agree. The second is a winner.

I seldom see them sitting still. The flight pattern is very distinctive.

I seldom see them sitting still. The flight pattern is very distinctive.

For this photo I had tracked her path along the river the day before, She used this perch several times so I setup for her before sunrise the next morning.
While sitting and waiting   in the dark I could hear up this river with a very distinctive call that sounds like a squirrel in the distance and within moments she landed 6m from me.
