Epson L1800 Again
« on: April 06, 2015, 11:41:01 am »

I have 3 main printers for my work
1- HP z3200 44inch ---12 colors
2-Epson 3880---9 colors
3-Epson l1800---6 colors
I use the hp for canvas and fine art prints and the 3880 as backup and L1800 for photobooks (Due to cheap inks compared to the others)
My surprise that me and the others feel that colors of L1800 is more vivid and shining without bronzing especially on ultra gloss photo paper
is that normal and why to pay more $$$ in ink that produce less IQ

Since the 1800 is a Dye, I doesn't have any bronzing problems. And this do make a difference using glossy and some semi-glossy papers in the terms of finish and perceived color gamut. I would assume the other two printers works a lot better on matt papers instead, since this is where pigment printers really shine.
