Ancient Bay Laurel Tree, Imtarfa, Malta

One of few indigenous Bay Laurels in Malta.  The species dates back to the Pleistocene era and predates humans in Malta.

The detail is overwhelming.

Lovely detail. Would like to see just a hint more in the blacks. This is also a good candidate for a square composition, centre on the right 2/3s. There is great, natural graphic design here; I find the straight line board (?) in the lower left just a bit visually distracting - the square composition would eliminate much of it.
