Boy, the Ostercatchers I photograph live in tropical paradise - these guys look a bit cold!

Very good shot. Even the bird in the background complements, rather than interferes, the bird on the foreground.

I love it. The blurred high-key bottom of the frame is perfect as is the background. Colors play well together.

Thanks a lot! It might look colder as it has been - the white stuff on the bottom is the very bright sand of the beach while the blue background is the sea. It was quite windy that day and so I just had to wait for a strong gust to raise some dust/sand, the complementing bird in the background was a lucky incident and I just had to move accordingly (actually I wanted a little bit more separation but have been too slow). Thanks to overcast sky contrast was quite low which allowed for a bright exposure.
