Not so random: I like the convergence of lines.

I like the composition, but find the saturation and sharpening a bit aggressive.

I agree with Paulo about the saturation and clarity or sharpening, but like the photo overall.

Thanks for the comments. I used a 50mm prime lens which captures a lot of detail. As for the saturation/sharpening questions, I really didn't adjust it that much, it was a very colorful place.

Color and lines are nice, but the composition makes me want to move to the right to see deeper into the canyon.

I'd suggest bumping the saturation +30 and Vibrance -30 and take it from there.  The bottom right seems unbalanced in terms of color vividness.  The composition is good.

Murphy, I took your suggestion and bumped up the saturation by +25 and lowered the vibrance by -25. I also burned in the rocks and sand in the foreground. I think the image looks better. What's your take. Thanks.

I think you've balanced the overall tone.  I think the top of the picture looks less burned and more natural, particularly the highlights on the orange/tan rocks at the top, they clearly look much better.  But I also feel it closed down the shadows over the image a bit.  I struggle with this myself, I personally like vivid colors, I like open shadows, and I like a natural look.  Unfortunately sometimes all those things work in opposition and the more natural it looks the less vivid my image becomes.  I like the vividness and open shadows in your first image but I like the natural look and smoothness of the second edit.  Perhaps somewhere in the middle?  At the end of the day it's all tastes and preferences.
