Sony Nex - Is remote control possible from PC or Mac
« on: March 20, 2015, 06:55:22 pm »

I am looking for a Sony Nex camera that can be controlled from a computer.
Does any of the Nex models have this function?

I want to use the camera for a microscope and need to see the live images on a computer and do
the adjustments on the computer. If possible? Or from an iPod.

Any of the Sony mirrorless cameras (they aren't called NEX anymore - those are all old models - the newer ones have names like Alpha 5000 or Alpha 6000) that have Wifi and/or NFC have the capability to display the image, compose, change aperture, shutter speed, etc on an iPad, iPhone or Android device.  You will have to install the app from the PlayMemories store to allow you to do it and make sure that the Smart Remote App in the camera is up to date.
