I love owls, what's the key to finding them besides luck and being out at dusk/dawn?  They seem so elusive to me.

There is no secret other than happenstance, dumb luck and listening for their calls and hopefully following them to a roosting spot. This is how I found this guy but he sits way up under a full canopy of tree limbs and getting a clean shot is really hard.

Can you make a convincing owl call sound?  If you can, they will answer.  Get one to answer and there's a good chance you can follow the sound.  Don't ever make any other sound than the owl call or they will go silent.  Turkeys will also gobble to the sound of an owl, so you may wind up hearing both.  There is no good way to approach a turkey.  They are the most wary creature in the woods and have excellent eyesight.

That's funny, I can get Turkey shots all day long.  They are quite ugly birds however.  They roost in the Eucalyptus above my house every night... so annoying.
