I like the image and tonality. I find the out of focus bush in the front a bit distracting.

Not so sure about this one. I also find the out of focus bush a bit of a problem. The light is night and warm but the "tunnel" or "cave" effect of the top of the frame is not to appealing to me. On positive side, it gives me the impression of being there, looking at the lion, hidden behind some vegetation of rocks.

I must spend more time with your photo to fully appreciate it and I might also change my mind about the dark portion at the top of the frame.

This could be one of those images where a heavy vignette applied to the foreground to reflect the top of the shot, might work really well and help to push the viewers focus onto the main subject of the image, which is obviously the lion.

I am not a big fan of really heavy vignettes, but as you already have the top half of one in the shot, perhaps replicating that type of darkening effect to the bottom of the shot as well, would work quite nicely.

Have you checked your camera lately? Seems to be stuck in the Cloudy WB? ;)

Not the camera, Slobodan, my brain perhaps!
Actually that image was shot on a hot dusty afternoon in Etosha and the light quality was rather warm (not to mention the temperature!)

I don't care about the out of focus bush, my eye barely grazes it before it becomes uninteresting.  The vignette makes me wonder how the photograph was taken, how the effect was accomplished.  I even thought, is he in a cave looking out at the Lion?!  For me this image works.  The tree is interesting as well, and the lion quickly becomes the focus which inspires awe.
