I saw chromatic aberration (SCUBA)
« on: March 13, 2015, 07:27:33 pm »

I don't know why I was surprised by this, and in retrospect, it seems obvious that this would happen underwater, but....  I was SCUBA diving earlier this week, and noticed lateral CA around both my wife and some black fish.  No real point to make, except that it was sort of cool to see this actually happening in real time, not after the fact on an image.  It's probably also something I might never have taken notice if if not for my interest in photography.

What's been driving me crazy is the CA I'm getting looking through my eyeglasses.  These are progressive lenses.  When I'm looking through the middle it seems ok.  However, if I look through the top, the viewing line edges are blue and when looking through the bottom, they're red.  It seems the smaller the eyeglasses the greater the effect.  I guess I'd get the same effect if I looked at your wife and some black fish as well.
