Hi Guys,

I have an A7R and A7 MarkII and just got some new Godox AD360 Flashes. So far I am really impressed with these little power houses. 360 w/s in a small portable unit with fast recycle time. The flashes have a High speed sync mode and the Sony A7II would appear to support HSS (Certainly when using sony speedlights). However the wireless triggers that come supplied (FT16) do not support HSS. Wondering any anyone has managed HSS with this combo and if so, what triggers do you use / recommend?

Appreciate any help as always :)

you need a camera maker specific transmitter to do this... so far only Canon and Nikon are supported... there was a trick described for FT-16 when Nikon was not yet natively supported = http://flashhavoc.com/godox-v850-witstro-radio-trigger-alternatives/ , may be something like this will work for Sony (using for example Odin / for Sony, with TTL/HSS support / transmitter and receiver pair in between camera and FT-16)

PS: reading comments you can see a note from blog owner, posted literally a day ago = "Another person confirmed yesterday that the Phottix Odin for Sony will work with he Sony a6000 and A7 II."

Thanks for posting

Funny I found that page just a few minutes ago while looking around! It would appear at this stage the sony version is for the older minolta fit so yet another adapter is needed to convert the odin to sony multi interface shoe! Also note the price of the odins (not cheap). I have already purchased bowens / pocket wizards & Yongnuo so the collection is growing! Hopefully Godox will come out with a direct solution soon enough.

cheers
John

PS. anyone know if HSS will work using slave modes on Godox with a HSS flashgun on the hotshoe?

I have. I use Pixel Kings (with an adapter). I have the Adorama Flashpoint re-branded Godox trigger which has a sync jack. I'm able to use a sync cord between the King receiver and the FT-16 and it enables HSS to any flash connected (and in HSS mode). That way I don't need an adapter & transceiver for every flash and I can still control power levels! I did have to update the Kings to the latest firmware. The did not work until I did that.
