IMac -Photoshop CS 4 compatibility

Looking to upgrade from 2006 Imac Intel Core Duo to 2011 or newer Imac model. Budget is a concern, but more importantly I need to know what CS 4 will work with.
I'm getting back in to some PS work and would appreciate some info. From what I've read CS 4 has a hard time running on Yosemite. The other option is to submit to Adobe and do
a monthly subscription. Any recommendations appreciated

You may as well go all the way and get CC and Yosemite.

More important is what other programmes do you have? Check Apple - About This Mac - More Info and find any applications that are not Intel or Universal.
