The LuLa site really needs ...
« on: March 07, 2015, 07:58:23 am »

... a vastly improved index or TOC to product reviews. The current system is both hard to find and hard to use. Suggestion, something like this:

Cameras
- Canon
- Leica
- Nikon
- etc.

Lenses
- Canon
- Nikon
- etc.

Software
- Lightroom
  - version 4
  - version 5
  -etc.
- Photoshop

Scanners

Tripods

Camera Bags

Books

Well, you get the idea.

Yes we know! . . .  It's on our high priority list and we have some cool ideas. First thing we will do is an advanced search feature where essentially you can put in criteria etc. and get the list of what you want.  We'll also have a list by category that can be viewed more as a list than as pages.  Right now our priority is finishing the video page and we are almost ready to launch.  Then we will get to some other site functionality stuff.  Let's see if what we are working on works for you.

Great! I know that a web site like this presents many challenges and is a lot of work. It's worth it, I think.

What's nice is we now have a site we can expand on and grow with.  We now can put galleries in articles.  We now can have multiple home page images.  We can expand out to social media which will be very important for our growth.  Articles are much easier to handle now.  Our contributors will have access to the system so they can load their own articles.  We are mobile friendly which is a biggie.  The site scales to phone and tablet layouts and is vertical or horizontal smart.  Some of the ideas we have are big and fun.  As mentioned above just the advance search part will be big.  And, later this week you'll see what an integrated video feature of the site looks like.  Add to this more workshops over the next 24 months, some ambitious video projects and you'll have a site that will keep you informed and educated.   We are quite excited about the potential.
