Fly me to the moon!
« on: February 28, 2015, 01:24:44 pm »

Just a little bit of chance.

I was shooting an airplane with my SX50HS, and suddenly I saw that the plane was flying in the moon direction.

So, the challenge was to compose the photo to have simultaneously the moon and the plane in the frame.

And it worked.

Have a Nice W-E!

Quite an achievement. Single image? What was the focal length?

Nice catch and well done. Looks like a shot the airline might be interested in using.

Great capture. Was this hand-held or did you use a tripod? If sans tripod, I'm very impressed with the steadiness of your hand with that lens. In any case, nicely done.

Yes without tripod.

I'm accustomized to shoot handheld, because when I'm walking with my friends, I've not the time to use a tripod ;)

Most of my Vosges waterfall photos are done without any tripod, even at 1/4 sec or sometimes at 1/2 sec.

For 1 sec exposure or longer, my chances of success are too low.

So I've a "Gozillapod" for that purpose.

Great shot!! Reminds me of a couple of shots I got a long time ago (2006) with a Canon D60..6.3mp with a 70-210 lens:

Nowhere the quality of yours but I'd like to share them with you.

This one is the B1B bomber on a training run with the instructor in the smaller jet:

This one is of the B1B bomber alone:

Long time ago with early digital camera and small lens. Was out in Lancaster, CA  for the poppies and these guys were flying out of Edwards AFB. WAAAY more amazing when they fly low over the city!!
