I'm not sure which i prefer.
I don't think we can actually help you with which one "YOU" prefer. That comes from within yourself. Perhaps it may have been better to ask which one we all prefer and why.
I prefer the coloured one. It has drama and life. Is the location nearly? I would love to see the same composition with a clear sky. The simple geometry and vibrant colours would be stunning without the clutter of the clouds. The way the treeline is on the horizon is reminiscent of naive paintings. Quite beautiful.
The B&W one lacks contrast and depth and for me is a bit bland. The darkness in the sky detracts from the darkness of the trees, so the impact of the form of the trees is lost. Again, have a go if you can with a B&W of the same composition without clouds, and see if the impact of the geometric composition of the horizontal lines and the vertical 'blob' trees works with a plain sky.
I love the really low horizon.
