Beach Stroll
« on: February 26, 2015, 03:24:28 pm »

Haven't posted in a while. This is Strandhill Beach, Sligo, Ireland, late on a winter's evening as the light fades fast.

Thanks to all for the positive comments.

Well, I took a big step today -  went across the country to Conn's Cameras in Dublin with all the Canon DSLR gear I have and got rid of the lot in favour of a Fuji XT1, two zooms and a prime. Now, I'm sitting here wondering if I've done the right thing. However, every time I have doubts, I think of Kevin Raber's enthusiasm for the Fuji system  - his advocacy persuaded me to take the plunge. If only somebody would show me how to get the 23mm 1.4 lens off manual mode and on to autofocus, I could go to bed happy! Anyway, no more carrying heavy bags around the place! - a pleasant prospect for somebody of a certain age.

WAIT: Just solved it. Push the focusing ring forward and you're in business. Whew! What a dummy. As I said, folks of a certain age......

Seamus, I particularly like that the posture of the 4 people is similar.  I think that's a small but important part of what makes the image work.
