New Prototype Basic Digital Rangefinder Camera
« on: February 25, 2015, 09:07:54 pm »

This does look interesting.  I'm putting my name on the pre-order list (when such a list becomes available!).

Sorry but the video is a joke. A manual camera where nobody touches the lens, no less supports it.

Cheers,

If it is priced a lot less than Leica I will try them. I hope they make one in plastic and is somewhat cheap.

Hmmm, shutter, aperture and that's it, great. I hope there's some metering and I might be missing something obvious but how do you set the ISO?

All will become clear in time I guess.

Their Specifications page provides more details of their intentions.  It's the Konost FF model I'm interested in.

I wouldn't hold my breath on this one, but if an actual retail product ever arrives I'll certainly check it out.

Pass

Seems to combine the worst aspects of optical RF and EVF?  The Fuji T1 and E2 have something like this, though the methodology is different and IMO does not work that well.

Sounds kind of cool actually. It's just the kind of camera I would like to have. Not many menus, rangefinder, FF sensor, M mount lenses, VF with focus aid, it's a very nice idea. I hope they succeed and bring the product to to market. I would definitely consider one after it's tested and reviewed.

The sensor is supposed to be provided by CMOSIS, the manufacturer of the Leica M 240 sensor.
