Good idea, Luke. Unfortunately I have sold most of my older Nikon primes. But I did hang on to a 35mm, and I'll give it a try.
Let me take this occasion to walk back my earlier criticism of the new 35/1.8 G. I used it for some quick head shots, lit very simply by strobes and umbrellas. ISO was 64 at f8. But for my natural humility, I would call the results stunning, especially in the reflective/refractive tones of the eyes. (And here, !SO 64 was not too sharp.)
