PM5 and i1Profiler readings.
« on: February 17, 2015, 03:03:44 am »

Good day!
I found an old computer at the office with Profilemaker 5.
Very quickly grew the idea of using a chart made in PM5, for the iO, print it and use i1Profiler to measure it with an iO2 +I1 pro 2, using M0,M1,M2, export it into PM5 and use this to build a profile.
Is this even possible? Since it is a pretty tedious work, I thought I'd check here first.
Our i1 Pro 2 don't have a license for i1Profiler RGB.

PMP is too old to understand the newer MO spec although you'll get this effect with the newer i1Pro- 2 device upon the measurement data. Why not use i1Profile since you have it? It produces better charts and has a better color engine than PMP.

My i1p2 came from EFI, stripped from all but the display profiling license.
ProfileMaker can use the I1Io2, it reads it as the old one. However, i1Profiler can use the M2 mode, and I wanted to make one with and one without.

Then just use ProfileMaker Pro. It makes very good profiles, you probably will not see much of a difference and if so, you have to go OBA adjustment or other route. Let the unit read in legacy mode and build the profile. (biggest differences would be seen using a perceptual table anyway).
