FS: Leaf Aptus 75 H-mount (EU) SOLD
« on: February 15, 2015, 05:18:05 am »

Summary: a very fresh and reliable H-mount Leaf Aptus 75 (serial: LI400146) with accessories (batteries, charger, cable) €2700 shipping included. EU sale preferred. I'm located in Sweden and I'm well-known on this forum.

I've upgraded to a bigger back and now I'm selling my Leaf Aptus 75 which I've been using on my Linhof Techno. I'm very well-known on the forum, and my Leaf Aptus 75 story is known too. I had problems with my first Aptus 75 in cold weather, paid for an expensive e-box replacement but I was still not satisfied with the reliablity so eventually I got a completely new replacement back. This one is as reliable as it gets, I've shot 5089 frames with it in all sorts of conditions including -30C (-22F) without issues. I'm the only owner of the back so I know it has not been dropped or anything like that. There are some minor marks on the corners which is normal wear from packing/unpacking out in the field. The sensor glass is error-free.

The Aptus 75 was released a while ago but it has the same Dalsa 48x36mm 33 megapixel sensor and image rendering as the newer Aptus-II 7, it's microlens free and has excellent technical wide angle lens compatibility, I've used it with the symmetrical Schneider Digitar 35mm with excellent results. It's a very good starter back for a technical camera system (or an upgrade from 16/22 megapixel backs), and this sale is unique as you due to the factory replacement get a recent Aptus 75 from a well-known seller which has really put it to the test.

Unlike most entry level backs the Aptus 75 has a pixel peep focus check that actually works, which is good to have if you focus on ground glass. The raw converter is Capture One with the very highly regarded Dalsa colors and Leaf color profiles, color rendition has always been one of the strong points of Leaf backs and this one is no exception. Many prefer the Dalsa colors over Kodak (P45+ etc).

You can of course also use the back on a Hasselblad H1/H2 body and actually also the H4X and H5X according to https://captureintegration.com/hasselblad-h5x-compatibility-and-usage/ (unlike Aptus-II and Aptus 75S which are not compatible with H4X/H5X), I have however not done that myself as I only shoot with a technical camera.

Pictures attached. If you have any questions send me a private message as I won't be looking here every day.

bump! Okay, you succeeded waiting me out :)  -- price reduced to €2700. Won't go much lower than this, I'll rather keep it as a backup then going lower.

Will you be anywhere near Stockholm on the 18th of June? I will be there then and can do cash (euro) and collection in person.

These are the best sort of transactions in my opinion.

In principle would an offer of 2400EU be acceptable ?

  Tak

Ed

Sorry, I have just re-read thread and realised that this is H-mount, I have Mamiya gear. I will do some research about getting an H1/H2, I had one when they first came out, but sold it 7 years ago! I do love the platform. Give me your answer anway, I might be looking for an excuse to change platforms!

The current price is generating interest, as it should, so I'll sit tight at this level for a while.

Seems like the links to the images in the original post are broken somehow, reattaching them here.

Hello,
The images have loaded well

I am a bit disappointed to learn that you have been getting underhand sneaky offers out side the forum or via PM. I am hopefull that you will abide by the spirit of landscape forum a sort any arrangement out in the public space. I can now make the firm offer of 2400euro for collection in person paying cash in Gothenburg or Stockholm, which ever is closer for you - I would prefer the capital myself. Will be there 18th of June. I am assuming this is not far off what you wanted as you included postage, which international for this item Is of the order of 100-200Euro?!

Will put that out there for now

Most deals on this forum is sorted out in PM, I have no problem with that. People can low-ball all they want to if they wish, but my best offer so far is very close to €2700 so I'll sit tight at this level for still some time.

This Aptus 75 is a unique, just look at the serial, it's probably manufactured after Aptus-II was launched with the only purpose to serve as a replacement back in guarantee situations, which was how I got it. It has the freshest electronics of a back of this model one can get, and €2700 is a good if not a great price. 33 is a noticeable step above the 22 megapixel level, the sensor is noticeable larger than the modern 44x33 crops, it's compatible with any glass. It's a great entry for MFD. I'm also a well known person on the forum, and internet overall, I'm not a random ebay seller. All these factors make me confident to wait a little bit more at this level.

Sweden is a long country, I live about 1000km from Stockholm and Gothenburg :-\. It's true that insured EU shipping will cost me €100-€200 or so, but it also costs me €200 to travel to Stockholm, and even more to Gothenburg. At this point I prefer shipping.

ooops,
It did occur to me that Sweeten was a such a huge country  :o!

I like to deal in person, so maybe count me out. And yes your item is worth at least 2700Euro. Best of luck with the sale it sounds like a good example of a great back
