The CRT Nikkor-0 (industrial lens) and its Images
« on: February 13, 2015, 01:58:39 pm »

Here are some large high-res images using various Nikon bodies (D3x, Dd3s, D800E, D810) and the industrial Nikkor lens “CRT Nikkor-0), originally made for monitoring oscilloscopes and CRTs, thus the name. Not a lens for everyone, but very out-of-the-box and fascinating photos are possible. Check it out. Here it is in a PDF file.

Only rarely do I like people's macro shots, but these are beautiful!  The lens has a great look with lovely bokeh too.  Very nice!

Taken today with the Nikon D810 at f/1.2 and 1/15 sec at ISO 64 using the CRT Nikkor-O lens.
This is the CRT Nikkor wide-open, a stacked photo where I just stacked razor-sharp layers of one part of the image, leaving the rest to bokeh. I like the effect of the eye drawn to the top of the flower, but relieved by the rest of the image. Probably an acquired. Need to see it large to get the effect.
