Map of Iceland for Photographers V3
« on: February 07, 2015, 03:41:12 pm »

Hi folks,
Some of you probably know my "handmade" maps, and I thought it was nice to give you some news.
Last time we talked about a digital map and a lot of you asked me about this, asking for some updates.
We worked hard on this digital edition, but we didn't achieve to make the map that I really wanted. So we keep working on it.
Meanwhile I focused on improving the Printed map every year.
Giving the best informations with the best design on the best paper.
Well, in fact the goal is to make the best map that I can.
I think that the new map of Iceland V3 is very close to what I wanted.
I would be very glad if some of you could give me a feedback from the field.
I'm working on the Scotland and Irish map now. I'll keep you updated.
Thanks for reading me,
Michael.

Hi,

I am planning a "Return to Iceland" mission and I have a lot of interest in your map, weather analogue or digital!

Best regards
Erik

Thanks, Michael, a very helpful tool for tour planing!

Your post comes very timely for me - a number of friends have toured Iceland in the past two years and I'm planning a summer visit too.

Hi Mike,
1 / It is the perfect tool for planning your trip.
2 / You won't miss anything while you'll be on the road.
I use it myself when I go in Iceland, twice a year (winter / summer) for leading workshops.
I must admit that I really love Iceland in winter.

I found V2 a very useful tool in the planning of my trip last year.

I agree, a digital version would be very useful indeed.

When actually on the road we used digital mapping most of the time.

I'm finally going to Iceland this summer; will be grabbing this (and probably for my friend) for the occasion :)

Sorry I just come back from a photo trip in the Pyrénées Mountains, South of France.

Thanks for the feedback Gary. I appreciate. Yes you are right a digital map would be handy, that is why I'm working on it.

But I will never stop using and creating printed maps, even if they are very expensive to produce, specially with the thick Tearproof / Waterproof paper that I use.

I think they are very handy, easy to read, they don't need any batteries... and they are beautiful "objects" to have on the road and to keep after the trip.

RawheaD: I'll be very happy if my map can help you planning your summer trip in Iceland.
