Hasselblad Stellar price collapse
« on: January 29, 2015, 11:36:14 am »

I see at B&H, the price of the Hasselblad Stellar, the tarted-up RX100, has plummeted.

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1059912-REG/hasselblad_1105024_hasselblad_stellar.html

Price: $3299.99.  Instant savings: $2300.  You pay: $999.99.

So much for these being collectors' items, at least for anyone who paid full price for one.  I wonder at what point did Hasselblad say "screw it, we'll wholesale these to you at $800"?  Because I know that B&H isn't going to take a loss on these.

So for anyone who thinks this camera has bling value, you can now put one over on all those fools who paid list price.  I'm guessing that will be exactly nobody in this forum.

At that price possibly and investment to sit on for 20 years?

Pretty obvious that they didn't sell many so a pretty special and rare camera regardless of what we all think of it today.

I don't care whose name is on it or how special the edition is, if you buy a $3000 point and shoot camera you can afford to eat the loss!

The issue is that Hasselblad will have to compensate so many stores to reduce their stock to that price.

They could have used that money more wisely.

It is an ugly cam made for camera fondlers.

All I want for my SWC is a 6mp FF back for $2500 to $3000.
