iPF8400 Acceptable Room Temperature?
« on: January 21, 2015, 12:01:18 am »

I just started installing my new iPF8400.  The specification sheet says it should operate within a temperature range of 59°-86° F (15°-30° C).  The room I am going to put it into tends to fluctuate between 55-65° F.  Does anybody know if the colder end of the range will affect the printer's operation?  I suppose it is possible the inks might become more viscous or something but I wouldn't have thought a few degrees would make a big difference.

Cold will also effect any lubricants in the machine.
May or may not be bad, but I'm pretty sure they didn't just pick operating temperatures out of the air.

I am quite sure they pick the temperature precisely from the air!  ;D
Sorry, couldn't resist.

About the temperature, that difference is so close that I don't think it would be an issue. Low humidity, on the other hand, is something you should avoid with any printer.
