Sorting problem
« on: January 19, 2015, 06:18:32 pm »

I send an image from LR to Photoshop.  when i save and return to LR, the Sorting changes and the images goes to the last in line.  I repeatedly have to reset the sorting order.

In addition, the sorting order often changes on its own with no instruction from me.

Anyone else have this problem--solution??

By what parameter are you sorting?

Does the photoshopped image meet the same sort criteria as the original?

Sounds like you're sorting by Edit Time.

The sort order doesn't change on its own. It can be different in each folder/collection, or you may have dragged a thumbnail (which switches the folder/collection to custom order).

Yep. Often I photoshop an image while it is still in the Previous Import folder in the Library Module. When I save it back into LR it does not appear next to the original if I am still in Previous Import - but if I go into All Photographs, then it does appear beside the original.

I see how dragging an image in the film strip causes the sorting to change to Custom.  However, I am not dragging.  I am doing a lot of clicking on images to do comparisons, but no dragging.

Most of the time the sorting order changes to "custom" but other times it changes to "added order"-- I am not telling LR to do so--it really just changes on its own.
